Ravana - still alive!

No wonder Lord Rama made sure that the arrow has teared past the Ravana BUT the ten heads of Ravana symbolising:                                                                                        

  1. Kama vasana (Lust)             
  2. Krodha (Anger)
  3. Moha (Delusion)
  4. Lobha (Greed)
  5. Mada (Over Pride)
  6. Matsara (Jealousy)
  7. Manas (Mind)
  8. Buddhi (Intellect)
  9. Chitta (Will)
  10. Ahankara (Ego)    
 are still pervading in our society.
 Not a new news that India is oscillating in the clocks of corruption, pollution,poverty, starvation and the pendulum seems unstoppable!
Instead of pasting "kuch nahin hone waala India ka" in our minds and blame  it on, we better look at ourselves and TRY and control the 10 OVERPOWERING THINGS in our life.
Sounds tough, does it?

YES! we need to celebrate Dussehra all over again and again because we tend to forget the reason why we burnt the effigy of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad an year ago. Funny!(No wonder we always went to see the show for the 'aloo tikkis' 'gol-gappas'and other 'mela stuff' ha!).

 We need to burn the Ravana living inside us. Just identify which of its head is trying overpower your head...might be lust, might be anger, might be ego.....! Identify and start working. This small excercise who knows might turn us into good citizens and good human beings.

याद ही है तेरी बस!

गर्मियों की छुट्टियों में तेरा यहाँ आना तेरी आहटों से दिल की धड़कने बढ़ जाना हम खेलते थे लुका -छुपी इधर उधर  इस कदर के वो पत्थर भी गुनगुनाते थे गीत कोई पुराना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ खोई सी ॥ वो कुर्सियों को मिलाकर एक छोटा घर बनाना माँ की चुन्नियाँ थी छत का एक बहाना खेलते थे घर घर इधर उधर इस कदर के हवा भी चुन्नियों की कच्ची  छत देख , बदल देती थी ठिकाना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ खोई सी ॥ वो बाग़ में टहलना और पेड़ों से लटकना वो बंद कमरे में छुपके नाच के मटकना वो ब्यास नदी का पानी ठंडा था इस कदर वो छींटे मारकर ही पंछियों सा चहकना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ ख...
