SUNDAY, 07:00 pm
Tired of History, I thought I should take a nap.

"Anu...Wake me up when four of you will go to the mess for dinner.."
Anu- "Hmm...alright"

Around 7:40 , five of us- Anubhuti, Varnika, Meghna, Kavita and Vidisha (me), went downstairs for the dinner. Our mess timings begin from 07:00 but we usually go for it around 07:30. 
Back from dinner, I began with history again. I was left with Islamic Architecture, Jain, Dravidian and Hindu Architecture and I ,actually we (Meghna, Kavita and me), had one night left. 
Its the end-semester exam that I am talking about. Anubhuti and Varnika had their Maths exam.

SUNDAY, around 08:00 pm or 08:15 pm
Mom gave a call. "Prepared....Sleep well one night before exam.... don't stay awake beyond 11pm...can wake up early around 4 am or 5am but sleep on time.....all the best...study hard...."
And I thought to myself :- "How do I sleep?" .... "....that too on time..!" #zoke

 Hours passed munching Biscuits and Namkeen and with crackers of uncontrolled laughter.

MONDAY, 02:03 am
Done with Islamic architecture, we were left with total Seven temples falling under Jain, Dravidian and Hindu Architecture.
"Let's sleep for two hours  and wake up at 04:30 am ... say what..?"
Meghna- "hmm alright" ..."sleeping in installments helps sometimes"
Anubhuti peeped in - "wake me up too, even I can't take this anymore...pheww!"
 Three out of Five tube lights went dark. Varnika was awake till 04:00 and Kavita till 03:20 am. Five of us had set our alarms for 04:30 am putting on the most loud alarm tones.
 "Goodnight everyone.. have a good night sleep of two and a half hours.." 
 "...Horror night...".."haha..."

MONDAY, 04:30 am
"tetetetennnpepepepeennnn,,,,,,ooOOOoooooo.....lalalalaaaa....mooOOOOooves like Jagger.."
All the alarms one after the other started bursting together but still no one was daring to get up.
Meghna---the one who in the whole semester never ever woke up on time-- woke up!...and woke everybody else around...! Kavita woke up.
"Vidisha.... get up...its 04:40 ... Anubhuti...wake up...." With dimmed eyesight, I went into the state of shock for a millisecond that- Look! who's waking us up..?? Meghna !!! haha! Is it a dream? ... Blow!!! It was History's exam.
And four of us began again. Varnika had slept around 04:00 , so there was no chance of her getting up.
".....  Lingaraja Temple, The Sun temple, Khajuraho Temple, Tejpala Temple, Brihadeshwara Temple and Shore Temple..."  
Meghna finished off around seven and she had prepared her breakfast around 5 am only... Cuppa Maniaa---that's the only thing we can prepare ourselves with that electric kettle on Anu's table.
She slept again at 7  for an hour more.

But the rest of us were not over with the syllabus, and the study went on.

 MONDAY, 02:00 pm, after exam and lunch
Exam went fine. And all of us were in the pressing need of sleep.
I slept around 02:30 thinking somebody would wake me up around dinner time. But looks like everybody else slept thinking the same...haha.. Nobody put the alarms. Nothing. Silence.

"dark..looks like night...everyone's sleeping...sleep again...wait...time?...." 
I reached for my phone in order to check time:- 08:18 pm
 " ... freak!!! no dinner!! ... Anu....!!"  .." hmm"  .."look at the time... is there any chance of getting dinner in the mess?" .. "I don't think so" .."Let's at least check once.."

 Haha...without turning on the lights and letting the three of 'em sleep, we went downstairs to check whether we had a chance or not. "Thank God!" The door was open since it wasn't 08:30 yet.
We banged in the mess. We thought of taking the food upstairs for the roommates (since we thought and expected them to remain asleep). The mess attendant ma'am sat there with the attendance register.
Smiling at my sleepy face, "So late..?? What were you doing..??"  "Ma'am....sleeping" ;) :)

MEANWHILE IN THE ROOM:- 
Meghna, half awake out of small noises we made while moving out, checked out time - 08:20 pm!
Woke up all of a sudden, ran into our side and found our beds empty. "Where the hell did they go..? Already too late! Did they go for dinner without waking us up..?" She Ran back and woke up Kavita -- "Kavita!!!! 8:20 !!!"  ... "What???? 8:20!!!" 
She jumped off our bed too.  Meghna didn't care to toss up Varnika much.
 "Varnikaa!!! 8:20!!" ... "What?? 8:20??? Where are Vidisha and Anubhuti ?? ... "They aren't here, I think they've already gone for the dinner... Kavitaa!! Let's go!" -- leaving Varnika in the state of shock and confusion and sleepy mode that what was happening...?

IN THE MESS AGAIN :-
Me and Anubhuti had almost begun with the 'chappaatti and Aalu' when we saw Meghna and Kavita running towards the door . Four of us were smiling at each other. 
08:25 pm - The mess attendant ma'am looked at them too. Laughing and smiling at their condition too, she asked them, "Why late.??? ... ".."Mam everyone in the room was sleeping.." ..." haha! the two sitting there are also your roommates.." .."yes mam!" .."haha,, where is the fifth one then..? " and we smiled at each other thinking what if even she bangs into the mess in the sleepy way like we four did right now!!

STAIRS, WHILE COMING BACK TO A-501:-
We exchanged so many talks and made everything clear that who woke up first, what happened, when and how ?? Putting all the question marks to an end, we had 'two chappaatis with Aalu rolled in' and 'Sewaiyaan in a small cup' for Varnika. We all had it in our minds that we'll wake her up, tell her the whole story but...
Door opened. Lights on. Varnika was standing right in front smiling with confusion palpable on her face.
"Hahahahahaaaa" Four of us crackled in!
Varnika- "last words ..i remember,, Meghna had said... Kavitaa!! Let's go!.... was half sleep and not able to understand what's happening...so I slept back...but four of you weren't back after sometime... So I woke up. You people were still not back. Then I rolled up my quilt, put on my sweater but you still weren't back..!! Twas just ten minutes but I felt as if an hour has passed. So I thought i should go to the washroom and when I came back, YOU PEOPLE WERE STILL NOT BACK!!!! "

 "hahahahaaa" ..."Look we've got dinner for you :D" ..."yeahhh and now you all gonna look at my face while i'm eating...?" "hahahaaa"  and we dispersed.

 We find happiness in the smallest of things. Five of us whenever together, wherever together, happiness always finds its way in. At A-501: laughter, fun, adventures, troubles and enjoyment has no end.
We'll be together :)

याद ही है तेरी बस!

गर्मियों की छुट्टियों में तेरा यहाँ आना तेरी आहटों से दिल की धड़कने बढ़ जाना हम खेलते थे लुका -छुपी इधर उधर  इस कदर के वो पत्थर भी गुनगुनाते थे गीत कोई पुराना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ खोई सी ॥ वो कुर्सियों को मिलाकर एक छोटा घर बनाना माँ की चुन्नियाँ थी छत का एक बहाना खेलते थे घर घर इधर उधर इस कदर के हवा भी चुन्नियों की कच्ची  छत देख , बदल देती थी ठिकाना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ खोई सी ॥ वो बाग़ में टहलना और पेड़ों से लटकना वो बंद कमरे में छुपके नाच के मटकना वो ब्यास नदी का पानी ठंडा था इस कदर वो छींटे मारकर ही पंछियों सा चहकना । मैं करती थी इंतज़ार हर वक़्त , हर दफा , जीते थे वो दिन, हर लम्हा हर पल सफा , अब याद ही है तेरी बस , इधर उधर सोई सी , नम  हैं ये आँखें जाने कहाँ ख...
